Shrimp Recipes - Shrimp Etouffee

Use your Shrimp Butler to prepare nice peeled and butterfly shrimp for this shrimp etouffee recipe!
 
Ingredients for Shrimp Etouffee:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 cups peeled shrimp
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  • 1 bay leaf (optional)
  • salt and pepper
Instructions for Shrimp Etouffee recipe:
  • Combine butter and flour. Cook over low heat until mixture is light brown, stirring frequently. Add onions and garlic. Saute until onions are tender. Add shrimp. Cook 5-10 minutes, stirring often. Add water, parsley and bay leaf. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook 20-30 minutes. Serve over rice.
  • Serves 4.
